Sophia Cutler is a printed textile designer, illustrator and jeweler based in Brighton, UK. Currently in final year of studying (BA) Textiles with Business Studies at University of Brighton, after an exciting year working in Paris and London within the fashion industry with placements at Cacharel, Zandra Rhodes and Piers Atkinson.
Sophia's design aesthetic combines the use of fun, playful imagery with embellishment to create interactive, tactile pieces. She often takes inspiration from surrealism and uses unusual, juxtoposing materials to convey this. Sophia starts each project by drawing and sketching her ideas with a range of media. Her diverse drawing styles are then either exposed and hand screen-printed by herself or translated into digital designs, depending on the desired vision.
